Karnala Fort and Bird Sanctuary

Distance form Pune – 123 KM

Path – Pune -> Khandala -> Panvel -> Karnala

Karnala fort is situated on Mumbai-Goa Highway (NH-17) between Panvel and Pen.
Karnala forest is truly for the birds, over 150 species. Best time to visit is monsoon. Its about 5 kms size area . Karnala fort is 450 m above the forest, where the Karnala Pinnacle sticks out like a thumb.
